Fishing Never Closes in the Eastern Sierra

July 4 Independence Day
Fireworks Show at Bishop Airport.
Hosted by Bishop Volunteer Fire Department

Bishop folks head to the airport for a day of fireworks and fun, topped by a major fireworks display at dark, visible from throughout the town. Independence Day in Independence includes an easy-to-enter parade at 10 a.m., arts and crafts in front of the Courthouse. In Dehy Park, there are kids games, Methodist Women’s Pie Sale, and a deep-pit, roast beef feast, capped by fireworks at the airport.

Death Valley ’49ers Encampment (First full week in November)

Celebrating the Gold Rush ’49ers who trekked across Death Valley, the Encampment takes place at Furnace Creek in Death Valley National Park and features live music, re-enactments, pioneer costume race, and a parade. The Wagon Train travels several days through Death Valley to arrive at camp.
